The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The influential video game developer passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, as reported by.
