Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.
However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
