Salah Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Salah said sorry to the group of players following the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match following criticising the club and suggesting his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the games following the situation. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
