Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.
The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.
He has published more than 40 books in total, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
